Can you go to any doctor with IEHP? ›

If you now go to providers who are not in the IEHP network (out-of-network), in certain cases you may get continuity of care and be able to go to them for up to 12 months. If your providers do not join the IEHP network by the end of 12 months, you will need to switch to providers in the IEHP network.

IEHP is a health plan for people who have Medi-Cal. IEHP works with the State of California to help you get the health care you need. IEHP contracts with Independent Physician Associations (IPAs) to provide healthcare services. An IPA is a group of PCPs, specialists, and other providers of health care services.

The majority of physicians who limit Medi-Cal patients in their practices said they do so because of low payment rates and burdensome program administration. The state reduced the amount it would reimburse doctors for caring for Medi-Cal patients by 10 percent in 2013.

Medi-Cal provides no-cost health care coverage to qualified low-income California residents. With IEHP Medi-Cal, you get Medi-Cal's benefits and services, including no monthly premiums and zero cost for doctor visits, medication and hospital stays.

You must financially qualify for Medi-Cal. Most single individuals will qualify for Medi-Cal if there income is under $1,676 per month. Most couples will qualify if their income is under $2,267 per month. If you have disabilities, your income can be slightly higher.

Is IEHP HMO or PPO? ›

IEHP DualChoice (HMO D-SNP) is an HMO Plan with a Medicare contract. Enrollment in IEHP DualChoice (HMO D-SNP) depends on contract renewal.

If you have IEHP, you may need a referral from your Primary Physician. If you have straight Medi-Cal you may be able to self refer. Neither IEHP or straight Medi-Cal will cover Chiropractic Care in a private office .

Inland Empire Health Plan is a health plan for people who have Medi-Cal. Inland Empire Health Plan works with the State of California to help you get the health care you need. Kaiser Permanente is your health care provider through Inland Empire Health Plan.

As an IEHP DualChoice member, you can get your over-the-counter health and wellness products paid for using the Vibrant Health Debit Card. And, if you qualify for the utilities benefit, you can use the same card for both.

Once you are enrolled in a Medi-Cal health plan, you need to choose a primary care doctor who works with your Medi-Cal health plan. You can ask your current doctor if they work with a Medi-Cal health plan in your county.

Emergency Rooms: As stated above, if you have an emergency and you cannot find a doctor right away, you can go to the emergency room at any hospital. If you show your BIC to staff at the emergency room, Medi-Cal will pay for the services you receive.
