Studying the Bible is vital. It is alive and relevant to our life today. We accept Scripture as God’s Word to us and inspired by the Holy Spirit. Not only does the Bible instructs us intellectually, but also guides us spiritually. Please join us for worship and study.

Worship and Activities

Sunday School: First Presbyterian Church offers a variety of Christian education classes for children, youth and adults. Sunday school opening is at 9:15 a.m., in the Sanctuary.

Sunday Morning Worship: Our Worship Service employs an appropriate blend of traditional hymns and short choruses. Our service is structured around the Word of God, and the hymns, the prayers and the sermon are meant to interpret faithfully God’s will as revealed in Scripture. Service time is 10:30 a.m.

Children’s Sermon: During morning worship, we have a special Children’s Message. All the children are invited to the front of the church to listen to a special sermon. It is led by Dr. Robert Rooks or another church member and ends with a prayer. After the message, the children can return to sit with their parents or go to the toddler room to play.

Communion: On the first Sunday of each month, we celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper, or Communion. You do not have to be a member of our church to participate in the sacrament, as we invite all Christians to celebrate communion with us. Baptized children of believing parents are welcome to partake if the parents deem it appropriate.

Special Services: Special services are held during the Easter and Christmas seasons including: Holy Week, Good Friday, Advent and Christmas Eve.

Choir Practice: The Young People’s Choir meets on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of every month at 9:30am and the Adult Choir meets on the 2nd & 4th Sundays of every month at 9:45am.

Bring-A-Dish Fellowship Luncheons: Everyone is invited to bring a dish and enjoy a meal together throughout the year.

Small Groups: In the Fall & Winter we have small groups studying a topic of faith. We enjoy a meal at the host’s home followed by our study.

FREE Yoga Class: On Thursdays at 9:30am a free yoga class is offered to the community. It is taught by Annette Hill and meets in our Welcome Center (Wilson entrance).

Great Banquet: The Great Banquet is a weekend-long retreat where participants examine their faith and relationship with God in a fun and inspiring atmosphere. Through worship and study, people of all faith levels learn more about the love of God at work in their lives.

Men’s Thursday Group: The men of the community come together for a meal and study each Thursday at noon. The meal is provided for a $7 donation.
